First, let me introduce myself. My name is Tricia Kampert. I am a city school math teacher in the Pittsburgh, PA. I have originated from humble beginnings, possessing a bleeding heart and a hunger for helping people navigate life, including exploring and realizing dreams they never thought possible. My story is one of resilience, transformation, and the unshakable belief that where you come from does not define where you’re going.

There was a time in my life when the idea of travel felt impossible — a distant dream reserved for people with means, stability, and freedom. I didn’t have any of those. I faced homelessness, endured abuse, struggled financially, and wrestled with the kind of hopelessness that can swallow you whole. For years, survival was my only goal. I wasn’t chasing dreams — I was simply trying to make it through the day.

But pain, I’ve learned, can be a powerful teacher. It can break you, yes — but it can also build you. Slowly, I began to rise from the chaos. Step by step, I reclaimed my life. I fought to create a new story — one marked not by fear and limitation, but by courage, curiosity, and possibility.

And that journey led me to places I never thought I’d go.

One of the most profound chapters of my life began in Italy — the land of my ancestors, where my heritage first took root. Living abroad was more than a passport stamp; it was a soul-deep awakening. I walked the same cobblestone streets my family once did, stood in the sun-drenched vineyards of Tuscany, and lived in the valley where I've climbed the tallest mountains of the Italian Alps — not as a tourist, but as someone reconnecting with the roots of their identity.

But the beauty didn’t stop there. I’ve had the privilege of forming friendships and connections all over the world — bonds that have expanded my understanding of culture, humanity, and what it truly means to belong. From street markets in Eastern Europe to captivating Safaris in Africa, I’ve learned about people not from textbooks, but through shared meals, stories, and laughter.

Travel became more than escape — it became transformation.
